Canadian Provincial Immigration Programs (PNP)

Canadian Provincial Immigration Programs (PNP) are one of the fast-track and important ways to immigrate to Canada and obtain Canadian permanent residence. Provincial programs (PNPs) provide the possibility for Canadian provinces and territories to select people who intend to immigrate to Canada and are interested in living in a certain province.

Each of the provinces (except Quebec, which has a different provincial selection system) and Nunavut have unique provincial selection programs. Participating provinces and territories sign an agreement with Immigration Canada through which they can select people who meet their requirements.

What are the requirements for Canadian provincial programs?

Canadian provinces and territories can nominate applicants who intend to reside in that province under provincial PNP programs. In order to be a candidate for a province, you must meet the requirements of that province’s immigration program.

Each Canadian province’s immigration program specifies its own requirements for applicants. For example, a province may target applicants who have work experience in a particular job or nominate applicants who are fluent in French. In fact, the conditions of each province are determined based on the labor market needs of that province.

Each of Canada’s provincial programs (PNP) consists of several immigration streams. In the following, you can see the conditions of all the immigration programs of the Canadian provinces at a glance:
